Israel’s most authentic estate winery

A genuine estate winery created by owner winemaker Eyal Rotem, who spent a number of years in Australia. The winery, which is situated in the foothills of the Judean Mountains, used natural yeasts for fermentation. The wine press situated in the vineyard is a reminder of the ancient history of winemaking on the same site. The fact that the winery building was used as Yitzhak Rabin’s headquarters in the War of Independence is a reminder of Israel’s modern history. Clos de Gat is particularly well known for its Syrah, Merlot and Chardonnay.

Clos de Gat Chanson

Fresh, fruity wines with good acidity representing great value. The red is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Mourvedre. The white is a blend of Chardonnay, Semillon, Viognier.

Clos de Gat Har'el

The Clos de Gat Har'el label represents wines with typical varietal character from the estate vineyard. There is a Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Clos de Gat

Under the Clos de Gat label there is an exquisitely balanced Chardonnay and the Ayalon Valley, a red Bordeaux style blend made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Two very high quality wines.

Clos de Gat Sycra

A rare label for exceptional wines made from only the finest vintages. There is a Sycra Merlot and a Syrah. The word Sycra is Aramaic for bright red.
