KEREM MONTEFIORE, Judean Hills

Reflects the history of both Israel, and of Israeli wine.

A winery founded to commemorate the vision of Sir Moses Montefiore, the first person to urge a return to agriculture and the planting of vineyards in Israel. The winery is founded by Arnon Geva, co-founder of Castel, and Rachel and David Montefiore. It also celebrates the contribution of the Montefiore family to Israel and Israeli wine. The vineyards are in the Judean Hills. The winery is a specialist in Petite Sirah, Mediterranan style blends and wines that match particularly well with food. (Kosher.)

Montefiore White & Red

Entry level, unoaked, Mediterranean style blends. The white is a blend of Colombard, Chardonnay & Semillon. The red is a blend of Malbec, Shiraz & Petite Sirah. The wines are fruity, full of flavor, easy drinking and refreshing.

Montefiore Reserve Wines

Varietal reserve wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petite Sirah grape varieties, grown in the Judean Hills and aged in small oak barrels. Each wine expresses the character of the varietal and the terroir of the vineyards.

Montefiore Aria

Montefiore Aria Reserve is a Mediterranean blend of varieties especially suitable for the Israeli climate, and the Judean Hills in particular. It is a blend of Syrah, Carignan and Petite Sirah and is aged in small oak barrels for 16 months.

Montefiore Kerem Moshe

Montefiore Winery's prestige wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Merlot grapes grown in the Judean Hills. Kerem Moshe was the name given to the land Sir Moses Montefiore bought in 1855, which became the cornerstone of modern Jerusalem.
