GALILEE REGION
Israel’s most beautiful wine region.
The Galilee is in the north of the country. Most of the vineyards are in the Upper Galilee, bordering Lebanon. The region is characterized by plunging hills, stony ridges, running streams and forests. This area, famous for wine in Biblical times, underwent a wine revival in the late 1990’s. It is today the fastest growing region. Soils range from gravel and terra rossa, to volcanic and altitudes rise up to 900 meters above sea level.
